Contemporary Artist · Founder of Genomism

I build images using letters.

Language becomes matter, identity, and form.
Letters are applied by hand, layer after layer, until human anatomy, gaze, and identity emerge from textual density.
This current language is Genomism.

How CHriZ Creates Art Using Letters

From language to form. From relation to presence.

1. Language as Matter

Letters are not abstract symbols or secondary carriers of meaning. They have weight, thickness, texture, and physical presence. In Genomism, the alphabet is raw material.

2. Accumulation & Density

Letters begin to overlap, losing their function as language and becoming physical matter. Layer after layer, repetition becomes structure, density becomes tension, and relation generates form.

3. The Emergence of the Image

At a certain point, something appears — not because it was planned, but because the structure allows it. The image surfaces from alphabetic density like an invisible code.

4. Surface as Territory

The surface is constructed like a physical territory. Textures emerge, light interacts with depth, and the artwork changes depending on the viewer's position.

5. Distance and Perception

The work exists in two simultaneous states: from a distance, a coherent image; up close, an intricate landscape of letters. It reflects how we navigate between proximity and perception.

6. Time as a Hidden Layer

Each work contains time as a material condition: duration of process, repetition of gesture, accumulation of layers. Time is what transforms letters into living presence.

An Experience That Requires Presence

In an era of rapid digital imagery, each work embeds duration as a physical layer. From afar, a unified identity surfaces; up close, the image breaks apart into an intricate labyrinth of manual letters. The work demands time, proximity, and an active gaze.
